Hey, I'm brand new to Linux; been using Windows all my life. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04, trying to configure MythTV to work with my Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1800 TV tuner card. That card is compatible with MythTV, although the forums I've read make it sound very difficult. I believe I've installed the drivers for the card. If I enter "dmesg" in the terminal, it lists a Hauppauge tuner card.
I don't know if I'm configuring my tuner card wrong on the backend, but whenever I run mythfilldatabase, it never finds any channel information. On the frontend, if I go to Watch TV, if gives me an error message saying all the inputs are in use, but there are no recordings. The Tuner Status on the frontend says that it has an error, and nothing more.
I may be missing something incredibly simple and have no idea because I'm so unfamiliar with Linux. I really appreciate any help!

The actual error message reads:
ERROR: MythTV is using all inputs but there are no active recordings?
