Hehe. Looks to me like the author is the one that's "dumbed-down".

Amazing how easy it is for a "reviewer" to get in print.

Thanks for posting the article, but I do agree with danc in that there's not much new information in the article.

Just about every distro "top x" list is just taken from distrowatch, which has far more useful information. The only audience I could see this article targeting would be new comers to linux, and 99.994 times out of 100, they'll end up going to Ubuntu anyways, so why bother?

Though, I have seen a few good "top x" distro lists, and gotten good information from them, for more specific purposes like lightweight distros, pendrive distros, etc...

Also: smart debian > all, Gnome > KDE, vi > emacs, & firefox > what-other-browser-is-there?
